Many group fitness instructors aspire to become presenters or national trainers but simply don’t know how to go about it. Below we have listed some ideas to get yourself known and to head in the right direction.
A good way to start is to run small workshops in your local area, this may include hiring a hall for a couple of hours or approaching a fitness centre to hire their studio. You may even be able to get the studio for free if you allow their staff to attend the workshop.
You may consider running a workshop for members at a club you teach at or you may choose to target other group fitness instructors in your area.
Going to presenters/experienced instructors classes
As busy fitness instructors we sometimes find it hard to attend other peoples classes. However if you are serious about becoming a presenter this is something you would have to consider doing.
Try finding a presenter who is teaching classes local to you and attend their class. See how they teach/coach differently from you and take tips from them. Try to apply this into your classes.
Attending workshops and conventions
By attending workshops and conventions you can keep your classes fresh and up to date with different moves and new music. These places are also a great way to network and meet other instructors/presenters who may help you to achieve your goal.
