A Sense of Balance
This class is a fusion of Yoga and Pilates: some moves flowing one to the next, while others are performed individually with more time for focus and surrender.The yoga elements in this class are from traditional yoga but using more of a Freestyle Fitness Yoga ethic. FFY is a yoga for everyone, a yoga that focuses on the physical aspects of yoga and leaves the meditation for another class. The postures aim to strengthen and lengthen muscles, and to release tightness in the hips, hamstrings, calves, chest, shoulders and along the length of the spine. Pilates focuses on strengthening the deep core muscles of the trunk, predominantly the abdominal and back muscles, to increase core stability. This in turn helps to support the whole of the spine and improve posture, flatten the tummy and trim the waist. My intention in this class is to help improve flexibility and mobility, and to help strengthen and tone the whole body right from the core. It can also help strengthen the breathing muscles and improve efficiency of the digestive system, all whilst promoting a feeling of relaxation.
The class is suitable for all levels, from beginners to advanced, including postnatal*.
