Yoga involves a series of 'poses' creating balance in the body through developing both strength and flexibility. This is done through the performance of poses or postures, each of which has specific physical benefits. The poses can be done quickly in succession, creating heat in the body through movement or more slowly to increase stamina and perfect the alignment of the pose. Flow Yoga and PilatesMore physically challenging than my Hatha Yoga classes, this class includes flowing sequences, such as sun salutations, in addition to holding postures. Although the range of movement is potentially bigger in this class than any of my others, it is not to the point of contortion as with some yoga styles. Instead, strength and stability exercises are included into the sequences, giving you a more balanced exercise class, challenging strength, balance and flexibility.
